Ok, summer has finally arrived and so has the usual trend of gorgeous beach waves! Depending on your hair length and type, not all of these options will work for you. For me personally, I prefer to either twist and pin or to use a curling wand because my hair is hella-curly and frizzy, so I need something to tame it down – unfortunately, spraying a texturizing spray or seasalt just won’t work. Hopefully one of these options will give you those gorgeous locks you are aiming for!
1. Braids: Start with damp hair and divide it into multiple sections. Braid each section loosely, and secure the ends. Leave the braids in for a few hours or overnight. When you undo the braids, you should have natural-looking waves.

2. Curling iron or wand: If you prefer using heat styling tools, a curling iron or wand can help create beach waves. Start with dry hair and divide it into sections. Wrap each section around the barrel of the curling iron or wand, leaving the ends out for a more relaxed look. Hold for a few seconds and release. Repeat with all sections. Once done, gently tousle the curls with your fingers for a more undone look. Finish with hairspray to hold the style longer.

3. Salt spray or texturizing spray: These products can add texture and enhance the beachy vibe. Apply the spray to damp or dry hair, scrunching it with your hands to create waves. You can let your hair air dry or use a diffuser attachment on your blow dryer to speed up the process while maintaining the waves.

4. Twist and pin: Divide your damp hair into sections and twist each section away from your face. Secure the twisted sections with bobby pins. Leave them in until your hair is completely dry. Remove the pins and gently separate the twists with your fingers to reveal beachy waves.

5. Sea salt and water mixture: Make your own beach wave spray by combining water and sea salt in a spray bottle. Shake well and mist it onto damp hair. Scrunch your hair with your hands to encourage waves as it dries.

Remember, the key to achieving beach waves is to create a natural and undone look. Avoid making the waves too perfect or uniform for a more effortless appearance. Experiment with different methods to find the one that works best for your hair type and desired outcome.
