Halloween is almost here and of course, Thanksgiving soon follows! Each year I get excited to decorate the house in a slightly different way than the year before. After doing some research, I’ve found my favorite and chicest ways to decorate pumpkins this year, without the traditional mess of cutting open the pumpkins.
Dipped Pumpkins

This is exactly as it sounds – you are literally dipping a pumpkin. I recommend that you choose the color that you want to paint the whole pumpkin, wait for that to dry, and then choose which color you want to dip. I love the look of a pastel main color and dipping it in metallic colors. Check out more detailed instructions here from ASubtleRevelry.com.
Floral Pumpkins

I love these best when you paint the whole pumpkin black (use matte for a gorgeous look) and then you choose whichever flowers you want. Once you paid the whole pumpkin, you can use a pencil to outline what shape you want to make with the flowers. Then using either a drill or another sharp object, lightly make holes for the ends of the fake flowers. Check out more detailed instructions here from TheMerryThought.com
Handwritten Pumpkins

This is one of the easier ones :). All you need to do is paint the pumpkin white (or any light color that you want), then you’ll take a permanent marker (gold on the white looks amazing) and hand write any message that you want! I would suggest you outline it in pencil before hand. Here are detailed instructions here from CookiesandCalligraphy.com
Color Block Pumpkins

This design is for all those modernists out there! All you need is paint and painters tape. The most difficult part of this one is making sure to get the painters tape as close to the pumpkin skin as possible to keep the paint on a nice straight line. Pushpin Pumpkins

Have some extra tacks/pushpins at home? Use them for this cute decor idea! Paint your pumpkins any color you want, just try to do them in a matte finish. Then choose whichever word you want (boo, eek, fall, etc.). Get the full instructions here at CountryLiving.com.
